Employee Spotlight – Patrick Duffy

Meet Patrick Duffy, Senior Associate in Development at Treaty Oak. We asked Patrick to provide a brief bio, why he is interested in the industry, and what made Treaty Oak Clean Energy the right organization for him.

What is your professional background?

I am a Senior Associate of Development, responsible for supporting the development activities within Treaty Oak’s solar+ battery energy storage portfolio. I have ~5 years of experience in power and renewables with roles in project development and project finance. Prior to Treaty Oak, I worked at a global independent power producer (“IPP”) focused on evaluating potential investments in wind, solar, and new technologies. Prior to my industry experience in power and renewables, I worked at EY in their audit division. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Westminster College.

Why are you interested in the renewable / clean energy industry?

Not only are there incredible opportunities for growth and development within the industry, but believe the clean energy industry is providing much needed clean, cost effective solutions to the grid. I’ve always wanted to work in a profession that makes you feel like you are making a tangible difference, which working in the clean energy industry does to the fullest extent. I also enjoy the dynamic nature of the industry such as tracking the latest in changes in energy markets and technological advancements, to the interpersonal aspect of meeting with landowners and local county officials. There’s never a slow day working in this industry.

What made Treaty Oak Clean Energy the right organization for you?

What first jumped out at me was the number of talented individuals at Treaty Oak and the entrepreneurial nature of the team.  I also appreciated how Treaty Oak takes a very thoughtful and unique approach to origination and development that has resulted in a high rate of successful projects.

Not only does Treaty Oak prioritize building a successful portfolio of projects, but they also prioritize individual growth and development for all their employees.  I’ve also been fortunate enough to wear many hats at the company, which has resulted in an incredible learning experience.
